Meeting Deena on date night

Hi Friends!!

Thought I'd share a picture of myself and Deena, South Africa's 1st Masterchef winner.

My husband and I have a date night policy where we both have turns to appreciate and impress each other on venue choice and experience every Friday night. This Friday it was hubby dearest's turn, so off we went to Aarya, Deena's restaurant in Monte Casino. We both enjoyed a fantastic meal and a very down to earth conversation with Deena, what an awesome guy he is! After dinner it was off to the games emporium where we had such a blast just playing kiddies games and winning tickets, we eventually won about 550 tickets and bought a bubble gun, a bouncing ball and a plastic ring :D it really brought back some old memories and boy was it fun!!!!

Hair and Make-up for my White Carpet event

Hi friends

I know it’s been forever since I have blogged but it’s been a crazy few months with my wedding, settling into a new home and now adjusting to life after the wedding.

Thought I’d fill you in on some details from the wedding...

So it all began on 11 December 2012 when we boarded our flight to Mauritius, the pilot announced our upcoming wedding to everyone on-board, (mums doing) everyone applauded and right then it started to kick in..."I’m getting married!!!" I thought and was overwhelmed with the thought of anything going wrong. So we arrive in Mauritius and the moment we get to the hotel, I was in awe!!!! Trou Aux Biches Resort and Spa (TAB) has got to be the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen! I swear the pictures on the net are nothing compared to this beautiful venue where Daren and I got married and then later honeymooned. There was so much to be done and I could hardly take any more time to absorb all of its beauty.

We were taken to our suite which I clearly remember hearing the porter say "Quat cinq neuf" meaning 459 in French... the number of our suite. We get in and I start unpacking my suitcases and smiled as I removed the most beautiful wedding gown in the world and hung it up in my walk-in.
Daren and I went to a superb dinner later that evening and had a little of the local rum... I felt a sense of comfort after having received the most amazing service at dinner. We then set off to our suite and decided to do a little personal video. Daren took the video camera out and started to video me and asked me to say a few words... I think it was so corny but sweet at the same time... we spoke about the wedding in the week and showed our excitement for it.

The next day we had much to do... I had scheduled meetings in order to confirm all the plans I made throughout the year. I must admit, we had a very professional team of experts who really took care of us.
So the week went on and I went for hair and make-up trials and mani's and pedi's. Daren and the boys went for a sunset catamaran where they drank and ate till they were baked! I had my Mendhi party at my suite and had loads of fun being with Family and friends. The Nelungu was on Friday a day before the wedding... we all met at the parking lot in TAB where we were taken to the Lord Shiva Temple in Ganga Talao, Mauritius... everything was just beautiful!

I wake up in my bed on my wedding day... smiling... get to the outdoor shower and have a relaxing and uninterrupted shower... then brush my teeth... smiling ofcourse :) I remember saying to myself “don’t forget how you brushed your teeth on your wedding day and don’t forget the shower!” I just paid more attention to everything normal that I did on that day just so that I would not forget how it felt to be the bride at a wedding. I threw on some shorts and flops to go check that the decor was coming together ok, everything was beautiful!
Off I went to do my hair and make-up for the wedding and I suddenly felt so nervous! The photographers arrive as I was dressing and start snapping... I just needed to see my mom... After dressing I went to my suite and had a vanilla milkshake and what do you know... my mom is in my room... we had a lovely chat along with my sisters while taking photos (multi talking) and I felt so much better...

My wedding coordinator tells me she has something he wants me to hear... she gives me her mobile phone and I listen... The music I had chosen for Daren to walk down the aisle to... I was so Happy-Nervous!!! the day had finally came...not long after my Club car came to the door to get me... It was my turn to walk down the aisle!!!!! I was dropped off at the end of my white carpet and walked down the aisle to Stevie Wonder's isn’t she lovely. Everyone stood up to watch me walk down the aisle but I could only remember 1 face while I walked down the aisle... Daren's happy face... I smiled back but quickly looked away; I did not want to start blushing too much. The ceremony began as the santoor player shared some beautiful music.

The priest pronounced us married and our family gave their best wishes... We walked down to the beach to get some pictures of the sun setting on the beach and later retired to our reception, graced our special audience with a choreographed dance that Daren and I had been working on with our dance instructor for months to the sounds of Kal ho na ho… and so the party began and I was finally Mrs Daren Mudaly, married to the man of my dreams.

What a beautiful night! It was everything and more!!!!!

I Have Butterflies

Hi Everyone

Tomorrow the 26th of may 2012 Marks the day I send out my Invites for Daren and my wedding.  i am so excited!

Just to give you an idea of the wedding invites, they are obviously as glamorous as can be! :)  the colours of the wedding are Cream, Coral and Turquoise and so the wedding invites follow suit.  We have a cream crush material introducing the clutch handbag style invite along with a corral and turquoise ribbon holing a crystal starfish and a bold anchor with the word love on it... there are diamante's on our amazing monogram and information cards that fit into a fold... I think I will have to upload  a picture so that you all can have a look. i think our wedding invite really represents Daren and my couple style and that is so important to me and should be to anyone getting married.

Wedding stationary is something that really adds that "something to look forward to" feeling and to give an introduction to our beach wedding at Troux Aux Biches ( french name pronounced "trow ahh bishay") in Mauritius, we chose to add those beach colours, charming starfish and anchor to incorporate our fairytale island wedding.

Tell you all the truth... I cant wait to marry Daren... everyday i wake up thinking i cant believe I am engaged to the most  charming man in the world... I cant wait to wake up on the morning of my wedding day to get dressed and have my hair and make-up done and walk down that isle to see Daren's face when he sees me :) aaaahhhhh!!!! i cant stop myself from smiling as I am typing... I have butterflies!!! :)
